Last Saturday night we went to Herriman to listen to a band play. Adam has a friend from school, Jakson, whose dad plays drums in a band. They were doing a backyard concert for their friends so I took Adam, Haley, and Abigail. They have a trampoline, swing set with sand pit, and handball/basketball court in their backyard. They also rented a bounce house for the kids to jump in. So it really was a family event. The girls had a great time. They made friends and played for several hours. Adam already had a built in friend there so he has a great time too. I only knew the hosts at first but then as people arrived a friend of mine from school came so I talked with her and her husband for a while.
The music was great. They are called West Bench. They play jazz, funk, and fusion. As the evening got going they had a few more people join them to play. I was very impressed. They play every Thursday night at Beans & Brews in Riverton at 3956 Innovation Drive (Bangerter and 13400 South) at 7:00 pm. You can also look at their website at www.rodjost.com . They do events and Barbecue's. Very fun. Oh, now I sound like a commercial.
