Activity #1: Elves

Since we are going to be away this Holiday and there are no gifts under our tree it doesn't exactly feel like Christmas. To remedy this I am trying to incorporate a bunch of fun activities into the 2 weeks that we have until Christmas. I would like to do at least 2 things a week. I have never taken the kids to Gardener Village to see the Elves so I thought that would be a perfect place to start. It was still relatively warm outside this past weekend at 54 degrees, and I thought that it would be our last chance to go in nice weather. I just wanted them to have a good time looking at the Elves, and I wanted to take a few pictures.

Haley and Abigail were totally into it. They wanted a picture taken in front of each thing. Jason was even willing to get in on the action if he could be in the picture with Abigail. He just did not want to be alone in the pictures. Here are a couple of the pictures. We had a good time and broke a law or two. Yes, we trespassed. This picture for example: The kids had to go behind the fence and sit on the ledge of the box. They kept watching for the cops to arrive and arrest me. Then as soon as I snapped the picture Lewis yelled, "POLICE CAR!!" and they all ran out from behind the fence and up the pathway, like criminals fleeing from the law on COPS. Chips off the old block!! I guess we better start teaching our kids to 'Do what we say, not what we do'.

And this picture we put them up into a wagon. All of the sleds and wagons had signs that said NO CLIMBING or STAY OFF. This wagon had no sign but it was very high up and nobody else would go on it, but we did. The kids were nervous so we only had one shot at a picture. But like I said, there were no signs on it that said not to climb...
Do you see the nail coming out of the wagon right in front of Abi? Maybe it wasn't exactly safe...

I am hoping to get out on Thursday or Friday night to take them somewhere else before the weekend. We will see!
