Before I even start I need to just put this out there.
If you know me well, or know me at all, you know that I dislike messy toy/activity things. I hate things like play dough, paint, glue; anything wet, smelly, dirty and not easy to use. So why is it that people insist on giving my children these type of gifts.
Haley had a birthday party in October and she was given SEVERAL "kits" from friends. Gluey, stringy, small pieces with paint, ribbons, beads and anything else you can think of.
When you give someone one of these "kits" you are not giving the child a project you are giving me a project. I DO NOT want your project!! Please hear my plea! I am not trying to be ungrateful, not at all. Thank you for wanting to give my child a gift. But I have some much better ideas then the crafty "kit" things. How about socks? We love socks at our house, and guess what... they take no glue, string, safety scissors or paint. They are practical, and useful. Oh! And another good thing about socks...they cost like $1 for a pair.
Wait! Jason just said what about a sock puppet... okay, just don't give us gifts.
And onto the real post...
For Haley's birthday she was given a "kit" for dying shirts. I tried to hide the kit and managed to do so for about 2 months. Then she found it. Haley shared nicely with Abigail and hey each made a shirt.

I want to see the finished shirts. And I will make sure to send some fun kits your way...
Haha. These are our FAVORITE gifts! Send the girls over for craft day at our house! Then I'll send Michelle with you to get her nails done or something girly like that.
Okay Natalie it is a deal. I have some more messy kits for you to do with your girls.
I really don't hate kits, I just hate messes. I am a bad mom :(
