And They Say I Never Cook Anymore...

....And it was really good too!

Grandma's Visit

Lewis' mom came to visit just in time for Adam's Graduation. She was here for almost a week. We took the kids bowling one of the days that she was here. Here is Abigail waiting for her turn.

Here is Haley in the mist of a roll.

Lewis is the only great bowler in our family. Needless to say some of the kids were less than thrilled to be bowling (as you can see no pictures of Adam or Jason). Jason won out of the kids with bumpers, and I'm not sure who won out of the adults. It was either Adam or me, but I can't quite remember ;)

And I Am Old...

How can I even put into words how I feel? As the day went on I felt the need to cry at every single turn, but seeing as I am not a crier the tears never came. When the song started and the graduates were walking in I did feel the slightest bit of tightening in my chest but I blew it off and grabbed the camera. Here he is, convenient that I choose the spot right behind him to sit, yes? No. I watched rehearsal so I knew where to save our seats :)

As he stepped up and got his diploma I was suddenly proud. When he started at his school in 3rd grade he was a tiny, skinny, shy, boy. Leaving to go into high school he is a tall, handsome, strong, mustache toting teenager.

Here they are, Channing Class of 2012. Hopefully they will all mature a lot in the next 4 years :)

Congratulations!

My Birthday or Turning 39, Finally

I decided after turning 29 for 10 years in a row I would finally turn 39. I am very happy to be my age and I am loved by the wonderful children at school. I received these pictures and posters for my birthday.

I was also serenaded by a class and another whole class came down and told me Happy Birthday, one child at a time.

That night Lewis took me to dinner with some friends. I somehow managed to get zero gifts for my special day so I bought myself a brand new state of the art toothbrush. Clean teeth here I come :)

Skitzo Phrenic

Adam was in drama for the second half of the school year. The kids decided to write, cast, direct, and star in their own short sketches. Adam was very funny and did a great job. The kids got to see it during school and Lewis and I went to the night performance. Haley came with us to see her boyfriends her male buddies from her class. It was a date that they had planned on meeting there a coincidence that they were all there to see the play.

We are very proud of Adam for stepping out of his safety zone and trying something new. He really liked the teacher and had a good time during the show.

Girls Only Trip To Las Vegas

As the Spring came flying toward us this year I knew that I needed to start planning my annual treks to Vegas. Last year I managed to go 6 times in 6 months. Not bad if I do say so myself. So trip #1 was quickly planned and set into motion. A 1st ever Girls (Adult Only) trip to Vegas.

We planned on leaving early Friday morning and somehow my mom and I were talking on Thursday at school and it was decided that we needed to leave Thursday night. So we set the plan to leave at 6pm and drive till we hit Nevada. It pretty much worked out as planned. We left a little late but we made it to Nevada  by 11:30 their time. We checked into the only hotel available and set for bed. I was pleasantly surprised to find these:

Everything is sanitized in between people. If you know me then you know I LOVE this!!!!
After staying up and talking for a few hours my sister-in-law, "E" fell asleep and I watched some television, using the sanitized remote :)
We got up early when my phone started beeping text messages from my man. Once awake, better get up. Showered, dressed and on our way. We hit our resort at noon and they let us check in early. Seeing as we were about 6 hours earlier then we thought we would be, we took the afternoon to shop the outlets. Here I am with a plus sized plastic bust:

What? I was waiting for my mom to try on clothes and she is very slow. You are lucky I did not post the picture of my accosting the plastic bust...

After shopping and spending we went to see our first show, Menopause. My mom loved it. She laughed and laughed and laughed. I thought it was funny too, we all did. But the funny thing was, I was about 30 years younger than anyone else in the place. Go figure :)

Here we are waiting for the show to begin. The show was in The Luxor. Nice place to visit, I would NEVER want to stay there.
"E", "M", and Me

After the show we ate inside of Mandalay Bay and then headed back to the resort. The next day we got up, Mom, "E", and I went to the gym while "M" did some work, we went to the store (I was out of Diet Coke!!!) and then hit the pool.

Here is the DJ from the pool. He looked just like Jason Statham (Transporter, Safe). I was obsessed.

Can you say yum?

Okay anyways, after staying at the pool most of the day, eating lunch, and riding the lazy river for an hour (yes, I did get wet) we left mom at the hotel and we went and shopped some more.

After shopping we got ready to go out to dinner.

We went to The Venetian, ate and then walked slowly to the show.

We went to see Blue Man Group. It was very fun and interactive. I think we all had a great time!

After the show we did a little shopping and headed back to go to bed. I don't think mom has stayed up that late ever in her life :)

The next morning we checked out, made some exchanges on items bought the day before and headed to Bellagio for breakfast buffet. We also wanted to watch the fountain and see the flowers in the lobby.

I thought this was so funny. This little Asian couple was taking pictures with their I-Pad. While he had a camera around his neck....

After breakfast and the fountain we got into the car and headed home. All in all it was a fun trip. A few snags  along the way but we made it home safe and sound. Maybe next year we go to Mexico???
